| Welcome to the Inbound Auto Attendant and Voice Mail! We would like to
introduce you to some of the options that are available for you. Knowledge
of these features will aid you when you start to build your voice mail system.
|
| |
| The Inbound Automated Attendant can answer your telephone in a variety
of ways. Your system will be able to provide information, transfer callers
or take voice messages. When a caller places a call into your system, they
may be greeted with: |
| |
a. Only a greeting and a message
b. A greeting, a message and voice mail
c. A greeting and menu choices
d. A greeting, menu choices and voice mail
e. A greeting, menu choices, voice mail and call transfers
f. Or any combination of the above |
|
Menu Choices - there are ten choices available for you to construct
your menu. These are the choices a caller will hear when they call your
telephone. They are numbered 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 0.
|
|
Mail box numbers - you may have up to 10,000 voice mailboxes
(0 through 9,999) and your mailbox numbers may be from one to five digits
in length. Callers may immediately enter the mailbox number or they
may search by name or listing if they do not know the mailbox number
of the person they are trying to reach.
|
|
Call transfers (or call forwarding) - If you have "3-way calling",
"Centrex" or "Call Transfer Disconnect", callers may be transferred
to another telephone number. Mailbox owners may turn the call transfer
feature "on" or "off". If the call transfer is "off", the call will
go directly to voice mail. If the call transfer is "on", the call will
be forwarded to another telephone number. If you have "Centrex" the
call will be disconnected from your system once the call is answered.
If you have "3-way calling" the call will not be disconnected from your
system when the call is answered; the telephone line the caller is on
will stay in use. In either case, when a call is transferred and there
is no answer or it is busy, the call will then be directed to the mailbox
owner's voice mailbox so the caller can leave a message. The mailbox
owner may call in from any location at any time and change the telephone
number where the calls are to be transferred. Check with your local
telephone company to see what "3-way calling" service is available in
your area.
|
| |
Listening in - you may record or listen to greetings, menus,
information and messages by telephone. If you have a sound card (Sound
Blaster compatible) in your computer, you may use a microphone and speaker
to listen and record.
|
|
Synchronicity - the Inbound Automated Attendant can function
simultaneously with the Outbound Auto Dialing when you are using multiple
lines.
|
|
Multiple telephone lines - your system can handle up to ninety-six
lines simultaneously.
